As Beyond The Goals is my attempt to share concepts, ideas, tools that can enrich your life and compel you to explore life choices that don’t just serve the daily hustle or material money goals but that focus on designing a life that’s about the deeper yearnings of your soul, becoming your own anchor, and creating impact as you live a truly meaningful life.
Beginning with this episode, to further my mission and to give you a little peek into my own journey, I have decided to, once a month, hold conversations with Julie Nguyen on the show that are completely unscripted with no set agenda except to check in, invite you to run a quick life assessment, see how you’re feeling about yourself, and talk about some of our common struggles be it around relationships, health and wellbeing, or the conflicts of the inner world. In between that, I’ll be taking questions from my audience, my lovely listeners with the intent to turn those conversations into mini-coaching sessions that will allow me to connect with you and provide you with solutions to what you might be struggling with in real-time.
In this episode, Julie and I hold a candid, open conversation about how the new normal has impacted and continues to impact our lives, our goals for the coming year, how we manage the self-doubt and the insecurities that get in the way, how to cope when you don’t have the support of your loved ones in your journey, doing compassionate self-work, and so much more!

Julie Nguyen is a writer, creative consultant, and trauma-informed relationship coach. When it comes to relationships, dating, sex, and mental health, Julie’s breadth and depth of knowledge is amazing. Previously, Julie was the Sex IRL column writer for HelloGiggles and advice columnist for mental wellness startup, Curio. In addition to writing, she also works with people and innovative brands looking to ask interesting, provocative questions about themselves and modern relationships an example of which is her collaboration with Actually Wellness wherein she led and co-directed a social dating experiment, the long second date meant to normalise proactive couples therapy.
Julie loves advocating and working with clients who wanted to develop a deeper understanding within themselves and question the why’s behind their love ideologies and beliefs instead of just wanting the perfect-on-paper matches. And to further develop those interests, Julie went on to receive her relationship coaching credentials in intimacy, sex, and communication and is now focused on building a relationship practice with liberation, pleasure, and anti-racism at its core.
